I pray you had a great New Year’s day. Each year as is the custom we begin by evaluating the past year and projecting forward our goals and aspirations for the new year. This is a time of great excitement and often a time to take stock in where we are at present. As I look at the past year I am thankful for the opportunity to share each day on Chosen Generation and to have had some truly amazing people on the program. In the second half of todays show I am doing a tribute to one of those amazing individuals. Pastor Ken Hutcherson of Antioch Bible Church in Redmond Washington was one of those amazing people. On July 29, 2013 I had the privilege of having him on Chosen Generation. I did not know at that time that he was in the battle of his life. I read an article that he had written and Glenn Taylor at the radio station suggested that he would make a great guest. I sent inquiries by email and then I had a conversation with his assistant Rachael. It was truly a divine appointment and Rachael sensed my passion for the Lord. This led her to schedule an interview with me for Hutch as he was known. What I did not know was that he had been battling cancer for 14 years and he was in the stage of what would prove to be the final months of that battle. What I did know was that this was a mighty man of God with a national audience and he was gracing me with his time and presence on my radio show. At the time he was also being approached about doing a weekly program on the Blaze for Glenn Beck. At the close of the interview he said he would love to come back on the program and I began to envision doing something with him on a weekly basis. We were able to schedule one more interview and then a series of events took place. First three members of his church disappeared into the cascades near his church. Then his health took a turn and he needed to reign in his schedule. The program on the Blaze was so important to get out there and though he wanted to do the weekly appearance on Chosen Generation, Rachael told me he had to monitor his activity. On December 18th Hutch went home to be with the Lord. His impact on the world has been significant and his impact on the show we recorded together is my tribute to him. His laughter was infectious and his uncompromising message was so powerful and so encouraging. I am hopeful that some day I can have that kind of impact for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. In a word he was REAL. Please tune in and enjoy the program.
On the first half of the show I will be joined by James Lansberry of Samaritan Ministries. Obamcare has presented us all with the dilemma of higher medical expenses and having our personal data mined by entities that we do not know and certainly do not have our best interest in mind. Attempts to find out about our gun ownership, religious views, political perspective, family dynamic, vocation and affiliations for the purpose of determining our value to society. These invasions of our privacy and the resulting profiling are certainly very unnerving. That is why I want to present you with some real alternatives. Samaritan Ministries is one of those alternatives. On the program James will outline how they are different and how you can benefit through their program. No one is immune to the effects of the Affordable Care Act, but this ministry is providing real alternatives so be sure to tune in. Also James will tell us about the Morning Center mobile medical program that is designed to reach women with unplanned pregnancy and give them medical care as they partner with Pregnancy Resource Centers to bridge the gap between those facilities, adoption agencies and a lack of medical coverage due to an over burdened medicaid system. This is a real Christians in action type of ministry. January is sanctity of life month and this is one way the Chosen Generation is raising awareness about this issue.
One of the points that was made in the Behold a Pale Horse movie I watched Monday night was the importance of knowing what the constitution has to say. I would like to invite you to consider participating in the upcoming Constitutional Class being held by the Oak Initiative. The cost is $30 for Adults and $15 for students and will start on Monday January 13th at 11:30 AM.
