January 17th General Meeting
Friday, January 17, 2014
Inn of the Hills – Grand Ballroom 1001 Junction Highway Kerrville, Texas
The January General Meeting of RWKC will be January 17th, and will feature a forum for our District 53 State Representative Candidates. Candidates who have committed to participate are: Karen Harris – Bandera, Rob Henneke – Kerrville, and Andrew Murr – Junction. (Tink Nathan – Center Point will be unable to attend and Wayne Ramsay – Bandera, could not be reached). RWKC member and District 73 resident Deborah Dombeck will moderate. We will meet in the Grand Ballroom at the Inn of the Hills at our regular luncheon time.
Our meeting will provide time for each candidate to inform you on their positions as they answer your questions on issues of concern in HD 53. You are urged to write your question in advance of the meeting and turn it in at the front door. There will be a few minutes early in the session to submit questions, but in order to allow as much time as possible for our candidates, we will only take written questions. No topic is off limits, but some areas of concern may be the state budget, water/property rights, healthcare, gun rights, infrastructure, a candidate’s qualifications, etc.
Please plan to make your reservations early by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 830/343/7588.
Chili Supper and Kerr County Candidates Forum
Saturday, January 18, 2014
On Saturday, January 18th, RWKC will host a Chili Supper and Kerr County Candidates Forum at Tucker Hall, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. The supper begins at 6:00 p.m. and food will be served until 6:45 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. we will begin the program and include all candidates running for Kerr County offices who have agreed to participate. This forum will allow our Kerr County residents to get to know the men and women who wish to represent them in leadership roles.
Reservations are not required and this event is free of charge. We will gladly accept and appreciate any and all donations at the door.
Both of these events will be a great opportunity for everyone to get a good look at all of the candidates so you can make an informed decision about your vote! Please be sure to invite your friends and neighbors, whether they are members or not. There is a flyer attached that you may print and hand out if you would like to. We look forward to two excellent events to kick off 2014!
Last notice of January 9 forum please make reservation ASAP.
Llano Tea Party meeting January 9, 2014 at Inman’s at 5:30 PM
Candidate Forum for State and National Candidates – Note the early start time so that you will be able to mingle with the candidates before dinner which will be around 6:30 as usual. During the forum candidates will make brief opening statements followed by questions from you. Please think out the questions you may wish to ask; questions must be brief and to the point because of our time constraints. A list of the candidates attending will be sent to you prior to the meeting. (Candidates for Texas House of Representatives district 53 and local candidates will be in the February 6 forum.)
Please make your reservations early and send your check to arrive by January 7. Then your name badge and meal ticket will be waiting for you and you will avoid the congestion at the registration table. This will also make life much easier for our overworked receptionists.
Mail your checks for $15 each payable to the Llano Tea Party to POB 635, Llano, TX 78643. To make your reservations call Patricia Dawson at 325-247-4567 or reply to this email. If you fail to make a reservation by January 7, the dinner will be $17.50 each.
As promised here is the list of candidates who plan to come to our January 9 forum. If you have not made a reservation for dinner now would be a great time to do so. The last day for making one is Tuesday January 7 but it is much easier on me & our receptionists if you respond earlier. Patricia
