Who won the great debate? Chosen Generation weighs in.

Dear Friends,

I have last minute programming change to announce for this Mondays program. I have been doing a series with Ken Thornberg from Freedom Encounters on personal freedom on Monday mornings at the beginning of the program, however this week I will be joined by Dr Georgia Purdom. Dr Purdom has a Phd. in molecular genetics from Ohio State University. This past Tuesday February 4th Ken Hamm and Bill Nye squared off in a debate on the title “Is creation a viable model of origins in today’s modern scientific era.” Can a person who holds a young earth creationist biblical worldview contribute to science using creation as their basis of understanding? More than 3 million people tuned in to watch and listen to the debate. Bill Nye ranted on and on the no “true scientist” could possibly hold to a creationist perspective. What I found comical was that after Ken Hamm presented several inventors of scientific and medical breakthroughs including Raymond Damadian inventor of the MRI. Dr Damadian is a devout Christian creationist. At that point all Bill Nye could do was call Ken Hamm names and say that apparently men like Damadian and their inventions were not really done by real scientists. Still many remain confused by the outcome and Dr Georgia Purdom who did the immediate after the debate interview with Ken Hamm will join us to discuss this historic event.

On the second half of the program I will be joined by Matt Kacsmaryk, Liberty Institute, Deputy General Counsel and Managing Director of Direct Litigation, Research and Education. Matt will join me to discuss the continued threats to our religious liberties. He will also discuss the impact the homosexual agenda is having on the pulpits across America and how ordinances like the one in San Antonio giving special treatment and protection to homosexuals threatens to silence biblical teaching in churches.

On Friday I went to a luncheon hosted by the Kerrville Chamber of Commerce. The guest of honor was Lamar Smith. Lamar gave a speech about his view of science and his science Chair position. How Mars appears to be the next inhabitable planet and our need to spend funds to explore that option. He finally opened up for a couple of questions at the very end. By the way he said very little about Obamacare, claimed he helped cut the budget (?) and generally told stories. I debated whether to even bother trying to ask a question as I had seen how he would only respond to fondling questions, but the opportunity presented itself so I asked him about NDAA. I framed my question that I wondered how voting for NDAA with a section that violates our fourth amendment rights by allowing for indefinite detention without charges for those considered to have ties to terrorists was protecting our constitutional rights. I also inserted the fact that evangelical Christians are still a part of military briefings where they are identified as “domestic terrorist threats”, that this detention issue concerns me. His response was that the NDAA contains no such clause. Then he went on to say that he voted for it because he is a gun rights person and that the NRA supported it and that he was protecting second amendment rights. How does a fourth amendment question turn into a second amendment answer?

(a) IN GENERAL.—Congress affirms that the authority of the President to use all necessary and appropriate force pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107–40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note) includes the authority for the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons (as defined in sub- section (b)) pending disposition under the law of war.
(b) COVERED PERSONS.—A covered person under this section is any person as follows:
(1) A person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored those responsible for those attacks.
(2) A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces. (c) DISPOSITION UNDER LAW OF WAR.—The disposition of a
person under the law of war as described in subsection (a) may include the following:
(1) Detention under the law of war without trial until the end of the hostilities authorized by the Authorization for Use of Military Force.
(2) Trial under chapter 47A of title 10, United States Code (as amended by the Military Commissions Act of 2009 (title XVIII of Public Law 111–84)).
(3) Transfer for trial by an alternative court or competent tribunal having lawful jurisdiction.
(4) Transfer to the custody or control of the person’s country of origin, any other foreign country, or any other foreign entity. (d) CONSTRUCTION.—Nothing in this section is intended to limit
or expand the authority of the President or the scope of the Authorization for Use of Military Force.
(e) AUTHORITIES.—Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect existing law or authorities relating to the detention of United States citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States, or any other persons who are captured or arrested in the United States.
(f) REQUIREMENT FOR BRIEFINGS OF CONGRESS.—The Secretary of Defense shall regularly brief Congress regarding the application of the authority described in this section, including the organiza- tions, entities, and individuals considered to be ‘‘covered persons’’ for purposes of subsection (b)(2).
His statement that section 1021 of the NDAA does not exist allowing for indefinite detention is not true. The issue is in the definition of covered persons. Specifically with “associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States.” This is where the problem begins. Recent military training material has come to light that shows that groups like the American Family Association and Family Research Council, listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center web site as hate groups were identified as being “hostile to the United States”. Additionally the Tea Party groups have also been targeted in these documents and by this administration through the IRS, NSA and FBI. These actions against Christian organizations that hold to biblical family values is alarming. When the government starts labeling groups like FRC and AFA as terrorists because of their biblical beliefs is the litmus test that difficult to see as it relates to you and I. That was the basis of my question to Mr Smith and his dismissive answer is alarming for someone who has been there 26 years and sat on the House Judiciary Committee as its chair while the Fast and Furious campaign was in full motion. No one asked him about his refusal to stand with Senator Cruz and to defund Obamacare or his vote to cut funding to Veterans by 20%. Before you vote think about the direction we are headed and ask your self do I want the same people taking me in the same direction or is it time to bring a change to Washington and I don’t mean Obama’s disinformation campaign of dope and pain.

I expect this to be a very powerful week on Chosen Generation. Tuesday I will be joined in the first half hour by Carol Everett a former abortionist turned pro life advocate will share her story and Karen Harris will join me to discuss Texas abortion challenge, based on her two appointments by Governor Perry and explain why she is running to stop the RINO’s and Democrat in Austin from their efforts to turn Texas blue.

On Thursday we will hear from a man on the front lines of the border issue here in Texas. The leader of the Texas Border Volunteer Patrol Jim Gibson will tell us what really is going on at our borders. Then he will be followed by Pete Hegseth President of Concerned Veterans of America, with an in depth look at what our veterans are facing and the war that this administration has declared on them. These are the kinds of guests that the main stream media will not air and the information they do not want you to know.

I have written numerous times about the opportunities that this show has been given. Open doors that are waiting to be walked through. As I shared this past Monday, KERV 1230 has another hour coming available starting March 4th that I am confident God has called Chosen Generation to take it. This will give us a two hour program and already my guest list is getting excited. One other piece of information that you might want to know, if you listened today you heard it. The San Antonio City Council met today to allocate $900,000 for chemical abortifacients, Depo Provera and Nexplanon, to be given out through Adolescent Health Services to Medicaid for poor girls in San Antonio. You can be certain that Hill Country girls will be getting their hands on this as well since the abortion mills are catering to the Hill Country clientèle.

These are stories that need to be told through a biblical lens that offers the truth and the solution. I was contacted today by KSLR 630 AM in San Antonio with a new opportunity that is the best yet. They really want the program and have offered to give me a prime time daily spot for just $100 per hour. With additional expenses I can do this for $2500 a month to start. So between the additional opportunity to expand on KERV and this opportunity I need to find 70 people who will commit to $50 a month for a year. I believe there are businesses that want to reach the San Antonio market and support getting this message out that will partner with me thus reducing the need for individual donors.

Let me close with this. I am still thinking about an email I received outlining the plan that Jeremy Bird has put together to turn Texas blue. Jeremy Bird was the National Field Director of the 2012 Reelection Campaign of Obama. He helped turn Colorado and Virginia blue and he is here in Texas mobilizing and organizing to get Texas. Rick Perry beat Bill White by only 600,000 votes in 2010. At that time Texas was firmly conservative. We did not have a federal law suit to overturn Texas constitutional Amendment on marriage, our house and senate had not paved the way for Bill White to out fundraise Rick Perry as they have with Wendy Davis and which she has done to Greg Abbott. We did not have a federal law suit trying to over turn a legally passed and legislated law on protecting women from slaughter house abortion clinics and babies over twenty weeks old in the womb. We did not have the lies associated with our borders and the potential threat to our state from Other than Mexicans crossing our borders. The Islamic threat where in they have declared they need not follow our laws. And they did not have the federal attacks against our voter ID laws which will allow them to recruit unregistered voters, use poll intimidation in the inner cities and generally truly to manipulate the Texas vote. Not to mention that much of our supposed majority in the texas House has voted with the Democrats the past two years and the Senate leadership is what set up Wendy Davis to be where she is. None of this is news folks, I have been talking about this for months now and begging for some financial assistance to spread the word. Do you really want what has happened in California happening here? Do you really want our textbooks inundated with liberal theology? Do you want your business shut down due to fines because you won’t openly post a sign that says you support same sex marriage? Abortion? Your children removed from your home because you choose to home school? This has already happened in Texas and if you listened to my show you would know about it. But how many do not and so will remain apathetic believing that it could not possibly happen in Texas. I had a very long conversation after the Lamar Smith event with someone I very much respect but with whom I still do not fully agree. Many are convinced that everything is going to work out just fine and that we need not “forcefully” engage, that our actions will speak louder than our words need to. I also talked to my mom this weekend and we had a similar conversation, I have been so moved by her words of late as she and I discussed her generations’ embrace that someone as evil as those controlling the government could never ever come to power in America. How they remained apathetic to the reality of the threat. Now she sees it and wishes more people would wake up and get involved. We have confidence in who we serve and His sovereignty but we are compelled by Him to engage in doing all we can to save as many as we can. Please help me so we can get the word out. As Texas goes in the election cycle so will go the nation. You can support me by going to the secure donation button at the web site and setting up a monthly donation or you can send a check to Family Christian Center PO Box 3393 Bandera Texas 78003. You can also help by telling your friends to listen in. This can be done both live at 1230 AM on your dial or at www.kerv1230.com and listen live or at your convenience at www.pastorgregyoung.org by clicking on the all episodes link in the Chosen Generation box on the front page of the site. Remember together we can turn this thing around.
